La Grande Gita brings bikes, McLaren Vale and Italian Festival atmosphere together for one very good Sunday.

Choose a gentle sealed ride with the family, a social 27km or 40km loop, or the gravel and climbing of the 60km Grande and 80km Mega Grande. This is not a race. It is a day to enjoy the route, the landscape and the people you share it with.

Every ride begins and finishes at Serafino Wines, where riders, friends and families can settle in after the ride for Italian flavours, local produce, coffee, wine, music and time together.

La Grande Gita is a signature event of the 2026 Adelaide Italian Festival, delivered with BikeSA.

I've done several Bike SA rides over the years. Several Coast to Coast, Amy's Ride etc. This was my first Gita, and my all time fav Bike SA ride.

I liked that it catered to a wide range of abilities. I saw seasoned riders and total first timers all having a good day out. It felt welcoming and easy to fit into, no matter your pace.

The route surprised me in a good way. A mix of back roads, open stretches, and a few punchy climbs kept it interesting without being overwhelming.
